Elizabeth-Jane Burnett
Elizabeth-Jane is a poet and visual artist specialising in the use of new media (esp. hypertext) in contemporary innovative writing by women. Her work is hybrid and shifting. She flirts with performance on and off the page and screen, and questions the role of multimedia in these hermaphroditic, androgynous, mongrel, cyborg, queer, lovingly freakish affairs.
She is currently researching and furthering her practice on the PhD in Contemporary Poetics at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her practice includes performances in London and New York, the publication of artists books and digital projects, and work as Poet in Residence in schools with the Arts Council's Creative Partnerships.
She has studied at Oxford University (BA English), Birkbeck, University of London (Creative Writing), Royal Holloway, University of London (MA Poetic Practice, PhD Contemporary Poetics) and Bowery Arts and Sciences, The Bowery Poetry Club, New York (Applied Poetics).
Elizabeth-Jane is interested in collaborations, collusions and collisions. For a conversation contact: ejlburnett@yahoo.co.u
