Artist Statement
I My practice in the arts has encompassed forms of video, sound, printmaking, drawing and interactive installation. As my experimentation through mediums expands, the boundaries between these forms begin to dissipate. Prints take on animative movement through a series of subtle changes; video is merged with drawing and sound is brought to image. Through these mediums I am continually working through structural principals, which serve as a framework to my pieces. Mostly, I am concerned with issues of relationship: bodily relationships (points of contact and human movement), spatial relationships (in shot structure, page layouts, and installation), scale relationship (in areas of both image and sound density), and finally relationships through movement (with focus on imitation and complementary gestures as well as their displacement in context). My work has been shown in such venues as Holmes Auditorium at Alfred University and Squeaky Wheel Buffalo Media Resources in Buffalo, NY.
