Artist Statement:
In my work I explore the mystical nature of creation in contrast with a mechanical study of biology. At the same time, I am engaged in an exploration of the hypnotic potential of painting and drawing. My work is a meditation on obsessive gesture. Each piece involves more than 100 layers resulting in undulating three-dimensional surfaces that are both tactile and seductive. Despite the intrinsically artificial nature of the static image, the resulting patterns imply sensuous organic growth and movement.
