Mel Kozakiewicz was born and raised in upstate ny...lived early adult years in buffalo, ny until heartache drove her around the country in search of pretend, a city she has not yet found...
The outcome of this cross-country adventure was the beginning of a love for poetry.
Her poetry is political, fast-paced, and feminist. Like most poetry, it is meant to be heard and not read. The work focuses on the eradication of sexism, racism, heterosexism, and classism.
Her first book, Band-aids and white Skin is still looking for a publisher.
