Bio
For me, the 30s are proving to be a time of "returning home" to the internal true self after a decade of
experiencing different places, groups of people, lovers, communities, artistic mediums and focuses on various facets of life.
I have an "inner artist" who is calling me out to fulfill a greater destiny through painting and photography that has a stronger social message than what I've been producing. This is how I have come to the Evolutionary Girls Club, to share purpose, inspiration, messages & hope for a better world community, to push the ideas of lgbt legal & marriage rights into reality, and to finally bring my artistic dreams into tangible form. Making the move to a full-time art career is a life dream come true. My artwork largely reflects bright cheerful colors and hopeful messages. Bringing more happiness into the world and helping people to feel good is one of my highest priorities. "Blue Sky Cottage," an art company and ebay store named after two of my favorite themes, is a web-based gallery and online gift boutique of my whimsical painted furniture, photography, fun signs & mirrors, funky glassware and found treasures. |

I've spent 13 years as a documentary photojournalist for newspapers and chose this profession for both the reason
that I hoped to make a difference in my community and people's lives. Photojournalism has shown me the most
beautiful, touching side of humanity, and has also driven images into my mind of the most nightmarish scenes you
can imagine. We go where people wouldn't normally dare or want to. We also get rare access to opportunities
that make it worthwhile. My favorite photographic assignments are photojournalistic weddings and one-of-a-kind
portraiture that shows the depth of a person's or family's character, love and essence through my eye. I love to
work in black & white when possible, and I offer the nostalgic touch of hand-coloring as an artistic service.
I have won awards from the National Press Photographer's Association and the Associated Press over the
past 10 years.
